We begin and end seated, and use the chair for support in a variety of standing strengthening, balancing, and stretching poses. This is a great class for those who have difficulty getting up/down from the floor, or who cannot put pressure on joints in kneeling poses. All-Seated Chair Yoga In this all-seated class, we bring motion to the joints and strength to the muscles through gentle, slow movement. This class is ideal for anyone who is looking for movement and breath awareness without standing postures, including individuals living with chronic pain or illness and those with limited mobility. Gentle Chair Yoga Mostly-seated class focusing on gentle movement and breath awareness. A few standing poses are offered, using the chair for support, with options for those who remain seated. Great for seniors, people healing from injury or living with chronic pain, and those with limited mobility. Curvy Yoga Curvy Yoga was created to help you cultivate a yoga practice that is body affirming and meets you where you are. People in large, stiff, or inflexible bodies, as well as brand new beginners, can benefit. We move at a slower pace, using options and props to make each pose work for each body, right now, just as it is. We connect with our breath. We learn to appreciate our bodies just a little bit more. All bodies welcome and respected. Gentle Hatha Yoga This is a slower, gentler version of traditional Hatha Yoga. More time is spent warming the body through reclined or seated movement before coming to standing postures. This class ends with one or more restorative poses. Great for beginners and anyone looking for gentle movement. Hatha Yoga Develop strength, balance, and flexibility though the practice of yoga postures, with a focus on alignment and breath awareness. Includes lying, seated, hands-and-knees, and standing poses. Some previous experience with yoga is helpful for this class, but not required. Mindful Morning Movement Start your morning with mindful movement and breath awareness. This class blends slow breath-synced flows, gentle Hatha poses, and T'ai Chi movement to mobilize the joints, strengthen the muscles, and open areas of tightness in the body. The slow movement of this class makes it a perfect start to your day. Great for beginners! Rest & Reset Take a midday break for some restful Restorative Yoga followed by guided relaxation and silent meditation. Restorative Yoga This class consists of supported reclined postures which allow the body to completely relax. Great for stress relief, tired muscles and joints, and anyone looking for some quiet rest. Slow Flow A mindful movement practice syncing breath to slow-paced, steady movement through yoga poses. Includes lying, seated, and standing postures. Some previous experience with yoga is helpful, but not required. Yes You Can! Yoga (Pay-What-You-Can) If you’ve ever wanted to try yoga but thought “I can’t do yoga because ____” then this is the class for you! Designed for beginners, people in large or inflexible bodies, and those with stiff or creaky joints. This class is Pay-What-You-Can. Yin Yoga Yin yoga is a practice that opens the connective tissues in the body. Postures from seated or lying down are held for an extended period of time. This allows the fascia to open, which can increase flexibility over time. Yoga Nidra Yoga Nidra, or "yogic sleep", is a practice of guided deep relaxation. This practice allows the body to fully rest while the mind stays alert. We begin with a few moments of gentle movement before coming into stillness for a guided journey into deep rest. |
